Using less is always the best option, all else being equal. Conservation means using fewer resources, many of which are non-renewable in today’s society. Valley 25x’25 does not advocate the need for making drastic lifestyle changes, but simply not using energy is the best option, when available. The shopping trip across town that is not taken uses less energy than the trip taken in a fuel-efficient vehicle. A thermostat set a few degrees lower in the winter simply uses less energy. If we can make lifestyle choices that decrease our consumption of energy but don’t leave us any worse off, we all win. Look for conservation opportunities whenever and wherever you can.
